Padmakar Yashwant Mohile (1926 – 2021)

It is said that every policeman is a citizen in uniform and every citizen must be a policeman in plain clothes. Shri Padmakar Yashwant Mohile is a person fitting both these roles.

When the 13th Akhil Bharatiya Samajonnati Parishad was held in Dadar, Mumbai in 1982, Shri Mohile had just finished his first role of Citizen in Uniform and hanged his Uniform. So he was the obvious choice for the roile of Policeman in Plain Clothes. He was Secirity-in-Charge of the Parishad and the policeman in him performde the duty with professional efficiency.

Born on 26th Jue 1926 at Baroda, in the then Bombay Province.

On 22nd April 2021 earlier in the morning at his residence at Vile Parle (East), Mumbai, all of a sudden he felt breathless. An ambulance was provisioned, he walked few steps to sit on the chair in the ambulance and those were his last steps. He was declared dead (due to natural death as his Rapid Antigen Test was negative) on arrival at Balabhai Nanavati Hospital, Vile Parle (West).

EDUCATION :
Studied in Baroda and graduated in 1949 in Arts University of Baroda from Baroda College.

PROFESSIONAL :
Moved to Mumbai in 1949 to join Bank of Baroda, Horniman Circle, Fort where he served till January 1950.

On 7th February 1950 he was selected in the Bombay Police Department as Sub-Inspector of Police and sent to Nashik. After completing the training successfully, he was posted at Byculla Police Station in June 1961.

After serving at different police stations like Colaba, Azad Maidan, Special Branch II CID, he was taken up by the Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi from 8-11-1966.

During his service in Bombay City Police, Shri Mohile earned about 60 good entries and cash rewards from Coomissioner of Police, Bombay City.

During his tenure in the Intelligence Department he was awarded several letters by the Director, Intelligence Bureau, New Delhi for very successfully completing very different assignments given by him.

Finally, Shri Padmakar Mohile retired from the same department and hanged his uniform on 30-6-1982.

It was obvious that heads of many companies must be waiting for the retirement of theis efficient police officer. He was immedaitely enrolled by a noted and leading shipping company Burjorji, Cursetji & Sons as Chief Executive. Shri Mohile retired from this job in 1990 i.e. at the age of 64.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES :
Since Shri Mohile had liking for social work, he joined CKP Mandal, Vile Parle in the year 1986 on request from all the Trustees where he has been a permanent feature till today. After working in different capacities of Joint Secretary, Chairman of Managing Committee, Vice President, now he is one of the five trustees in the Mandal.

In 2007, he was assigned the critical task of Election Officer by CKP Sabha, Dadar. He handled the job so wellthat the election was absolutely smooth and peaceful. After that he is being invited as Election Officer by other CKP Mandals too.
